With Kylian Mbappe's contract in France set to expire at the end of the season, it is now reported that Liverpool will only seriously pursue the star on one condition.

The France captain will be out of contract with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season as things stand.
The 24-year-old told the French club's hierarchy during the off-season that he had no intention of exercising the option of an extra year in his current deal, and it appears his stance has not changed as we approach the mid-season window.
As of 1 January 2024, the pacey forward will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with any club of his choosing.
Real Madrid have been long-time suitors of the attacker, but the record European champions have collided with stumbling blocks every time they have tried to sign the forward.

The publication claims that the Egyptian has not yet expressed a desire to leave Anfield, but after Al Ittihad's attempts to sign the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner in the previous transfer window for a fee that was close to breaking the world record transfer, it is believed they will return with an improved offer for the prolific winger.

It is further claimed that if the 31-year-old does end up accepting a move to the Middle East, then Liverpool will use the funds to try fund the acquisition of Mbappe.
