Lionel Messi failed to find the back of the net once again as FC Barcelona were dumped out of the Champions League by Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
Barca Star Fumes At Missed Penalty Decision
The Argentina captain has now gone 452 minutes (five club matches) without a goal, his worst run since April 2010.
Messi, who is searching for his 450th goal for the Catalan club, has been stuck on 449 strikes since 16 March, and has failed to score against Villarreal, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid (twice) since then.
The last time we saw the Ballon d'Or winner endure such a run was in April 2010, when he failed to score in 474 minutes across all competitions.
The 28-year-old has only managed to score 22 league goals so far this season, and looks to be on course for his lowest-scoring campaign since 2008-09, when he netted just 23 La Liga strikes.
Guardiola: I Feel Sorry For Ronaldo
The Argentine's barren run has come at a bad time for the Catalan club – they have won just one of their past five matches in all competitions.
