FC Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi has insisted Cristiano Ronaldo is not his enemy and the rivalry between the two is invented by the media.

The Argentine and the Portuguese are battling each other for record over record since Ronaldo's move to Real Madrid in 2009.
However, Messi insisted there is no Messi vs Ronaldo rivalry and both just want to do the best for their clubs.
"There is no rivalry," Messi told Shortlist.
"It's something the media invented.
"We both want to do well for our clubs, it is not Messi vs Ronaldo, it never has been."
The two superstars have been very impressive since Ronaldo's €94 million move to Los Blancos.
Since 2009, Messi scored 332 goals for the Blaugrana, while Ronaldo racked up 313 for Real. In addition, the 27-year-old assisted 119 goals for his teammates, while Ronaldo set up 90.

When it comes to trophies, Messi collected his 13th trophy since 2009, while Ronaldo remained on seven with Real Madrid.
