The IFFHS has announced its annual World's Best Playmaker ranking, with last year's winner Messi falling to the second place this time around.
Along with Xavi Hernandez, the Argentine has won the award a record-equalling four times, but finished behind Kevin De Bruyne on the 2020 list.
"Ranked in the Top 5 in the last years, he (De Bruyne) has won the IFFHS Award in 2020 due to his intelligence, his technical ability, his regularity and determination always in high performances with Manchester City and Belgium," the IFFHS wrote on its website.
