Messi is four and half years older than his teammate, who turned 24 last week, and has won every competition he has been in contention for at club level. He has also broken several goal records, and Neymar seems on track to follow his path.
The Brazilian has already scored 211 career goals in 345 senior appearances for Santos and Barcelona. Messi, meanwhile, had scored 180 career goals in 269 matches by the time he turned 24 years old.
The Brazil captain is also ahead when it comes to national team appearances and goals, having worn the Selecao shirt 69 times and scored 46 goals, while Messi had netted just 17 times in 57 games for Argentina.
But when it comes to trophies, 24-year-old Messi edges Neymar's trophy cabinet today.
The Argentine had already claimed 17 titles, including five La Liga trophies and three UEFA Champions Leagues, as well as the FIFA World Youth Championship and Olympic gold with Argentina, while Neymar currently sits on 14.
He has lifted six trophies since moving to Spain (including one Champions League), another six with Santos, as well as the South American Youth Championship and the FIFA Confederations Cup with Brazil.

As for individual awards, Messi had already won two of his four Ballon d'Or titles, while Neymar's best achievement was his third place for the same prize earlier this year.
