French publication L'Equipe recently published an article on the latest salaries in France's top flight, and it does not surprise anyone that Neymar beats all of his peers to the top spot.
The Brazilian reportedly earns a monthly gross salary (before deductions) of €3.067 million (R46 million) – twice as much as the league's second best paid player Edinson Cavani, with €1.54 million (R23 million).
Kylian Mbappe completes the top three with €1.50 million (R22.5 million), while as many as nine of the top 10 are Paris Saint-Germain players. Radamel Falcao, in ninth position with €750 000 (R11 million), is the only non-PSG star among the 10 highest paid stars in Ligue 1.
Dani Alves, who pockets €700 000 (R10.5 million) sits in 10th spot, followed by Julian Draxler and, somewhat surprisingly, highly rated Marco Verratti in 11th and 12th with €600 000 (R9 million).
Even out-of-favour winger Hatem Ben Arfa, who has not made a single first team appearance for PSG this season, earns more than Balotelli, who dropped down to 16th position.

Ben Arfa is, with a monthly salary of €500 000 (R7.5 million), on par with Olympique Marseille's best paid stars Dimitri Payet and Luis Gustavo, while Balotelli follows with €450 000 (R6.75 million).
