One of FC Barcelona's key players this season has revealed how he reacted when he first saw and stood next to six-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi.
Teenage sensation Pedri officially joined the Blaugrana at the beginning of the season, after initially agreeing to a move to the club from Las Palmas in 2019.
The attacking midfielder was expected to be loaned out, but has instead formed an integral part of Ronald Koeman's plans, with the 18-year-old having featured 41 times across all competitions already this season.
Speaking in a recent interview about his arrival and specifically about encountering Messi for the first time, the soon-to-be Spain international admitted to being completely starstruck.
"The first day I saw him (Messi), I thought it was a lie," Pedri told Club del Deportista.
"When I was next to Messi, I was very shocked."
Pedri then discussed playing alongside the Argentine legend.
"It's easy because when you give him the ball, you know things are going to happen," he added.
"And that's what I'm trying to do, giving it to him in the best condition possible to make the most for the team."
