As a result, many are tipping the Citizens to win the Champions League, but manager Guardiola believes otherwise.
The Spaniard was recently asked if he backs his men as favourites for this season's edition of Europe's biggest club competition, and according to Sky Sports, he replied with: "Who does (Lionel) Messi play for?"
The reporter quickly named Barca as the side Messi represents, with Guardiola responding: "So they're the favourites."
