Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could set yet another UEFA Champions League record in the final this weekend.
Schweinsteiger: Why Manchester Is The Place To Be Next Season
The 31-year-old is preparing for his fourth UCL final appearance against Atletico Madrid on Saturday, and having scored in his previous two, he is on track to become the first player to score in three Champions League finals.
Ronaldo netted in his first final, when Manchester United beat Chelsea in Moscow in 2008, scoring the opening goal of the game, which was eventually decided on penalties. His second strike was a last-minute penalty in extra time as Real beat Atletico 4-1 two years ago.
The Portuguese forward is the all-time top goalscorer in UCL history, with 93 goals, and became the first player to reach double figures in the group stage of the competition, with 11 strikes, earlier this campaign.
Ronaldo currently has 16 goals in this season's edition of the tournament, and therefore still has an opportunity to equal or even better his record of 17, set in the 2013/14 campaign.
Raul, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi all scored in two Champions League finals, but Ronaldo could now put his name at the top of that pile if he hits the back of the net this weekend.
