Cristiano Ronaldo Could Be Charged For His Celebration

The Portuguese forward has gained a reputation for his provocative behaviour towards fans, and his goal celebration against Barcelona has been brought into the spotlight, after his 'calm down' gesture to the Catalan club's fans.

The president of Spain's professional football league (LFP), Javier Tebas, said that goal celebrations such as Cristiano Ronaldo's could cause violent and aggressive behaviour in the stands, adding that the 30-year-old is likely to face action.

"We have to be careful with provocative gestures by a player when he scores a goal or with any other provocation or conduct that could incite violence among spectators," he said as quoted by Daily Mail.

"It must be sanctioned, from a fine up to a suspension.

"We will look into it."

Authorities are working hard to stamp-out violent conduct by fans, following the death of a Deportivo La Coruna fan in November caused from fighting.

It's not the first time that Ronaldo has celebrated in this manner after scoring at the Camp Nou, but it is the first time that the Los Blancos star may face charges, as the LFP want to put an end to crowd-provoking actions.

On a football front, the Portugal captain has scored 42 goals in 40 appearacnes, while he's assisted 21 goals for his teammates.
