Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has broken Esteban Echevarria's 71-year old record for the best ever La Liga goal-scoring start.
The 29-year-old continued his record-breaking start to the La Liga campaign after scoring his 14th and 15th goal after eight game weeks.
Ronaldo achieved his 15 goals although he even missed one of the matches and has now bettered Echevarria's record start of 14 games in the first eight matches.
Echevarria set up the record in the 1943/44 season and ended up scoring 25 goals in 21 games that campaign.
Ronaldo's brace in the 5-0 drubbing of Levante took his total tally for the new campaign to 20 for club and country in all competitions.
Real Madrid have now scored 30 goals in their first eight La Liga games, averaging close to four goals per game.
Los Blancos are the best attack in Europe and if they continue in this rate they will finish the season with 142 goals, which would smash the record of 121 goals under Jose Mourinho.
At this point last season, Real had only scored 17 goals and it took them 12 games to reach the 30-goal mark.
However, this is not the club's best ever goal tally after the first eight league matches. In 1959/60 and 1987/88, Real managed to start two more goals.
Carlo Ancelotti's side now welcome log leaders, FC Barcelona, who are still unbeaten and haven't received a single La Liga goal, in the El Clasico on Saturday.
