Chelsea Boss Reveals Stance On Ronaldo Amid Links

Cristiano Ronaldo

With reports linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a move away from Manchester United in the January transfer window, Chelsea manager Graham Potter has now revealed his stance regarding rumours linking his club with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's services.

Report: Why Inter Refused To Sign Dybala

Earlier this week, it was reported that Erik ten Hag would be willing to let Ronaldo leave Old Trafford at the turn of the year.

The Portuguese superstar is understood to have been seeking a move away from Manchester since the end of the previous campaign, but the club was reluctant to sell their main marksman from last season in the latest window.

Chelsea were one of the clubs that had reportedly enquired about his services, but a deal for the 37-year-old failed to materialise after former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel vetoed a transfer for the Real Madrid icon.

With new reports emerging suggesting Ronaldo could depart the Theatre of reams in the coming months, the question was posed to new Chelsea manager Graham Potter as to whether or not his club would reignite its interest in the forward, but the Englishman was adamant in giving nothing away.

"We can spend all day asking these questions and I am not going to speak about anyone else," the 47-year-old said in a pre-match press conference, as per the Daily Mirror.

"I've got respect for anyone you mention or anyone that anyone else mentions, but if they're not our players, I don't speak about them."

It is believed Ronaldo has become more determined to leave the Red Devils after being relegated to the bench in recent weeks, despite being the club's top goalscorer last season.

Ancelotti Sends Message To Hazard

The ex-Juventus star has scored only one goal so far this season, a penalty in the UEFA Europa League.

In the Premier League, the attacker has started just one match in this campaign, and in United's humiliating 6-3 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, he failed to make an appearance at all, the first time this has happened all season.
