Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca has admitted that he cannot match the goal scoring exploits of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, conceding defeat in the race to become La Liga's top scorer.
Ronaldo Messi Snubbed For UCL Team Of The Week
The Colombian is currently fifth in the Pichichi rankings, well behind the Real Madrid and Barcelona stars. He has scored 17 goals this season, while Atletico's Antoine Griezmann and Barcelona's Neymar both have 18 goals.
Messi is way ahead in second place, recording 34 strikes this season and Cristiano Ronaldo leads the pack with 38 goals in his 28 appearances so far this season.
"I'm happy to have contributed with 17 goals in such a competitive championship but the fight between Messi and Cristiano is in a league of its own," he told reporters.
Bacca went on to discuss the battle between himself, Neymar and Griezmann, before speaking about Sevilla's Champions League goals.
"Neymar and (Antoine) Griezmann are above me but they are at big teams like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. We have to appreciate the work that is being done in a big team like Sevilla," he added.
"Reaching the Champions League has been our hope from the beginning of the season and we are not going to hide it. There are a few games left and we still have a chance."
Sevilla are currently fifth on the La Liga log, three points off the pace from fourth-placed Valencia, with seven matches remaining this season.
