Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has slammed Spain's Administrative Court of Sports' decision to uphold his five-match ban.
The Portugal captain was given his marching orders in the first leg of Los Blancos' recent Spanish Super Cup win over FC Barcelona after receiving two yellow cards – one for removing his shirt during a goal celebration, and the second for being adjudged to have dived in the penalty area.
In a moment of frustration, Ronaldo pushed the referee after the red card was brandished, and was handed the stern punishment as a result, which he has tried to appeal in court. However, the court was unmoved.
"One more incomprehensible decision. From injustice to injustice, they will never overthrow me. And as always I will come back stronger. Thank you to all who have supported me," Ronaldo wrote in an Instagram post seemingly in response to the court's decision to uphold the ban.
The 32-year-old was suspended for the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, and also missed Real's La Liga opener against Deportivo La Coruna.
