Earlier this week, the UEFA's official website released a list of European club competition records that Messi and Ronaldo have not yet broken.
The FC Barcelona and Juventus forwards are the UEFA Champions League's two leading goalscorers, with 113 and 127 strikes respectively, but neither holds the record for the most goals in the final of the competition. That honour is shared by Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas, who both netted seven times in UCL finals, more than Messi's two and Ronaldo's four.

They both also trail Iker Casillas in terms of all-time appearances in the competition, with the former Spain international having featured 181 times for Real Madrid and FC Porto. Ronaldo is close behind with 169 games to his name while Messi is a further 31 matches behind.
Neither player has scored faster in a UCL match than former Bayern Munich forward Roy Makaay, who netted after 10 seconds against Los Blancos in 2007, nor have they scored a faster competition hat-trick than Bafetimbi Gomis' eight-minute treble against Dinamo Zagreb four years later.
