Ratcliffe 'Approves' Record £100m Man Utd Transfer

Ratcliffe 'Approves' Record £100m Man Utd Transfer

New Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly on the verge of approving a club record transfer for a teenage sensation.

Mere weeks after being confirmed as Manchester United's new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly set to approve a club record transfer fee of £100 million (R2.4 billion) for a midfield star.

The Red Devils' current club record for a transfer is the £89 million (R2.1 billion) they spent on Paul Pogba in 2016, but according to the Mirror, the club's new British billionaire is already keen on smashing that amount in an attempt to revitalise the team.

Last month, Ratcliffe made his 27.7% acquisition of the Mancunians official, and his arrival is believed to have brought a new optimism to the club.

It seems he is eager to impress those affiliated with the team even more by signing Portugal international Joao Neves for a club-record figure.

United's erratic 2023/24 campaign has put a spotlight on some of the team's problem areas, and it seems in the middle of the park is an area of the side that needs the most attention as the red half of Manchester looks to recruit the budding prospect.

The 19-year-old has made 63 appearances for Benfica since debuting for the club's senior side in late 2022, but having already been capped three times for the Selecao, United are seemingly looking to steal a march on other potential suitors and secure his signature.
