In a bid to improve their squad for the 2024/25 campaign, the Red Devils have a number of transfer targets they are working on.
Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee is believed to be at the top of United's shortlist, along with Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.
According to Turkish news outlet Sabah, however, the 20-time English champions have also expressed interest in Spain's Alvaro Morata.
The experienced forward recently suggested a departure from Atletico Madrid is on the cards despite being under contract with the Rojiblancos until 2026.
The 31-year-old has hinted at feeling underappreciated in his native Spain, and has admitted it is possible he will leave his current side in this transfer window.
It is now claimed United have already held talks with the ex-Real Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus forward's camp.
Morata is believed to be available on the cheap due to a release clause in his deal at Atletico that sits at just €12 million (R233 million).
