Having been out of management for a year, new reports suggest that Zinedine Zidane could soon be set for a spectacular return to the dugout.
According to football journalist Omar Altundag, as per Get French Football News, the 1998 Ballon d'Or winner is set to become Paris Saint-Germain's next manager.
The three-time UEFA Champions League-winning coach has reportedly been the club's top priority for the position over the past few months, with PSG reportedly aiming to revamp its technical staff.
Leonardo, who was the club's sporting director for the past three years, is understood to have Les Parisiens, with Luis Campos having been confirmed as the club's new football advisor, and it now seems that manager Mauricio Pochettino will suffer the same fate as the outgoing 52-year-old.
Reports suggest that Pochettino's departure will be confirmed soon, with Zidane seemingly set to take over the hot seat at the Parc des Princes.
It seems the former midfielder has had a change of heart after it was rumoured that he was waiting to take over Didier Deschamps' role as the France national team head coach, with the former Juventus and Real playmaker now reportedly set to fly out to Qatar to finalise terms with PSG's ownership.
Zidane, 49, has been without a club since he left Los Blancos at the end of the 2020/21 season. He won the LaLiga title twice and the Champions League three times while in charge of Real.
He recently attended Los Merengues' victory over Liverpool in the UCL final at the Stade de France, when the Spanish champions won a record-extending 14th European Cup.
Should the move be confirmed, PSG's chiefs will be hoping the Marseille native will be able to emulate those European feats in Paris.
