Sergio Ramos has revealed that a former FC Barcelona rival convinced him to join Paris Saint-Germain after leaving Real Madrid.
Ramos joined the Ligue 1 giants on a free transfer earlier this week after his contract came to an end with Los Blancos last month.
The 34-year-old, who was linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, says that Neymar, along with sporting director Leonardo Araújo and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi convinced him in opting for last season's Champions League finalists.
"Before signing for a new club, it is always helpful to talk with several players, or with Leonardo or Al Khelaïfi," said the no-nonsense defender, as per the Mirror.
"They all convinced me in their own way.
"We have been talking to Neymar for six or seven years.
"Despite the fact that he played for Barça and I played for Madrid, we have always had an extraordinary friendship."
