According to El Pais, UEFA threatened to ban the French side from the UEFA Champions League after they signed the Brazilian from Spanish giants FC Barcelona unless they managed to work harder at meeting FIFA's Financial Fair Play rules.
A new report has suggested that, within 48 hours of the threat, PSG put eight players up for sale, with only two of them moving on.
Angel Di Maria, Javier Pastore, Blaise Matuidi, Lucas Moura, Julian Draxler, Hatem Ben Arfa, Serge Aurier and Thiago Silva were all reportedly transfer-listed by the club.
Only Matuidi and Aurier left in the recent transfer window, although the remaining six were all linked heavily with other top clubs in Europe.
PSG also signed Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, but because they did so on a loan deal, no action can be taken until the move is made permanent next season.
