Paris Saint-Germain's new sporting director Luis Campos has reportedly identified a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, but it's not Zinedine Zidane.
RMC Sport reported on Saturday that PSG have informed Pochettino that he will be relieved of his duties after two years in charge of the club.
Various reports have put Zidane as the favourite to take over, with some reporting that an agreement was close between the Frenchman and PSG, although that has since been denied.
"All of these rumours which are going around are unfounded. To this day, I am the only person who is authorised to represent and advise Zinédine Zidane. Neither Zinédine Zidane nor myself have been directly contacted by the owner of PSG," Zidane's advisor said, as per GFFN.
"I also highly doubt that his majesty the Emir of Qatar, Cheikh Tamin Ben Hamad Al Thani, would go through social media or media in order to manager his business and take crucial decisions with regard to PSG's future. I'm not even sure if he's really interested in Zidane arriving."
L'Équipe have reported that the new sporting director Campos wants to bring in OGC Nice coach Christophe Galtier from next season.
Despite winning Ligue 1 with LOSC Lille, the report adds that the PSG owners are not convinced that Galtier is the man to replace Pochettino as his tactical ideas don't match the club's flowing football.
Zidane is still the hierarchy's favourite to take charge at the Parc des Princes, but the comments from the Frenchman's advisor does not bode well.
