Report: Paris Saint-Germain Find Mauricio Pochettino Replacement

Reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain have identified the man who will be replacing Mauricio Pochettino as their manager.

With the expected dismissal of head coach Mauricio Pochettino and with former sporting director Leonardo having reportedly already left the club, it seems PSG are looking to establish a more cohesive football structure.

Despite reclaiming the French league title last season, Pochettino has come under heavy pressure since PSG's UEFA Champions League collapse and their Coupe de France first-round exit.

The Ligue 1 champions recently appointed Luis Campos to effectively replace Leonardo as sporting director at the Parc des Princes, although his title is officially that of "football advisor".

Les Parisiens have lost out on the French league title twice since the 2012/13 season, and on both those occasions, Campos was the architect of the AS Monaco and Lille sides that were victorious in those campaigns.

The Portuguese has now reportedly found the successor to Pochettino for Les Parisiens, with Nice boss Christophe Galtier agreeing to take the role, according to FootMercato. The pair worked together at Lille when the club won France's top division in the 2020/21 campaign.

The same report claims that Campos wants PSG to play in a 3-5-2 formation, and is beginning to recruit accordingly.

The likes of Milan Skriniar, Vitinha, Renato Sanches, Robert Lewandowski and Gianluca Scamacca have all been linked with moves to the Parc des Princes as the PSG hierarchy seemingly looks to facilitate what is needed to get the best out of Campos and Galtier's tactics.
