The Argentine spent the season on loan from Inter Milan, where he was deemed surplus to requirement uner Antonio Conte at the start of the 2019/2020 campaign.

Icardi made a lasting impact under Thomas Tuchel after bagging 20 goals and four assists in 31 matches, which is second highest behind Kylian Mbappe and two more goals than Neymar.

Sky Sports Italia have now reported that the Ligue 1 champions will splash €50million and €7million bonuses to make Icardi's loan deal a permanent one.
