A former France international, who famously broke both of his legs during his career, has announced that he is desperate to come out of retirement to chase down a goal milestone.
Ex-Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse was known to be quite the journeyman throughout his years as a professional footballer, but scored the majority of his goals in France.
The former Reds forward, who found the back of the net 96 times in 209 matches in Ligue 1 for Auxerre, Marseille and Bastia, has now said he would love to reach the 100-goal milestone.
"We love goals, we love hitting milestones; 25, 50, 75… for me, it's the landmark of 100 that haunts me, I've been stuck on 96 since I stopped.
"I am missing four goals and it gets to me, it drives me crazy! I want to come back to Ligue 1 to get them. If a club takes me, I can get them in two or three months.
"I'm ready to come back and play for free, without pay, so there isn't much of a risk for them. For the moment, I'm not in advanced talks with anybody but I hope that clubs will appear."
Cisse, 38, first retired from football in 2015, but returned to football in 2017 with Swiss club Yverdon-Sport, and could now be set to come out of retirement once again.
