With FC Barcelona riddled with uncertainly at the moment, club legend Xavi Hernandez has made a huge admission that might excite the Blaugrana's supporters.
The Catalans have performed below their expected standards in this campaign, and things have not improved since the controversial managerial change that saw Quique Setien replace Ernesto Valverde in January.
Before his appointment, ex-player Xavi was believed to be the club's first choice for the position, but the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner decided against taking the opportunity at the time.
The former Spain midfielder has now seemingly revealed that his technical team are preparing for the Barcelona job, although he gave no indication as to when they will be offered the role again.
"The biggest hope I have now is to be Barca coach and get Barca back to winning ways," Xavi said, according to Sport.
"Not me, but these players and Barca triumphing. And as a consequence, our technical staff are preparing for it a lot and it makes us really excited."
Speaking more on his dream job, Xavi appeared confident he will be approached again to take over the reins.
"I'm a club man. I would like to return at the right moment to start a project from zero. I've said it a lot of times, but I want to take footballing decisions at Barcelona," he added.
"It's clear that, after the elections, the stage would be set, of course. I'm not ruling anything out. They came for me in January, we were speaking. I told them the circumstances and timing weren't right."
