The Highest-Paid Real Madrid Stars After Thibaut Courtois' Arrival

The Highest-Paid Real Madrid Stars After Thibaut Courtois' Arrival

With Real Madrid having signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last week, the goalkeeper has reportedly become one of the club's top earners. Here are Los Blancos' highest-paid players, with a new name at the top of the ranking after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club.

Click through the gallery above to see Real's top earners, and what they earn weekly, according to Total Sportek.

The shot-stopper joined Real in a transfer understood to be worth €35 million (R564 million), and put pen to paper on a six-year deal.

There are not many reports out there about the 26-year-old's wages in Spain, but it has been claimed he now earns about €13 million (R210 million) gross annually, according to Marca, which would see him pocket €6.5 million (R105 million) after deductions.

This converts to wages of about €120 000 (R1.9 million or £110 000) per week, and sees him sit in ninth position among Real's highest-paid players, just slightly less than Isco, who is said to earn £120 000 (R2.2 million) weekly.

After Cristiano Ronaldo left Los Blancos, Gareth Bale is now the club's top earner with reported weekly wages of £350 000 (R6.3 million), while Sergio Ramos and Toni Kroos follow with £200 000 (R3.6 million) a week.

Luka Modric currently earns £180 000 (R3.3 million) weekly, followed by Marcelo and Karim Benzema, who both pocket £150 000 (R2.7 million) a week, which is £10 000 (R180 000) more than 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Raphael Varane takes home weekly.

Keylor Navas, who was Real's first-choice goalkeeper over the past few seasons, is on £85 000 (R1.5 million) a week, and it remains to be seen whether or not he will leave the Santiago Bernabeu before the Spanish window closes on 31 August.
