FC Barcelona have reportedly asked four of their stars to take pay cuts, and are also planning to offload four more players in order to re-sign Lionel Messi.

LaLiga have warned the Catalan outfit that they need to reduce their wage bill if they want re-sign Messi and register their four new signings for the 2021/22 campaign.
Spanish publication Sport has reported that the club has entered into negotiations regarding salary reductions with Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, and Sergio Busquets.
It is believed sporting director Mateu Alemany hopes the players will be accommodating, with the LaLiga club aiming to save £156 million (R3.1 billion) in wages.
The club has already got six players off their books in recent weeks, while Francisco Trincao has been loaned out to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have the option make the move permanent.

It is further claimed that the club is also aiming to offload four more first-team players, with some believing Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti and Miralem Pjanic are on their way out of the Camp Nou.
