FC Barcelona confirmed the signing of a Brazilian wonderkid this week and inserted a €300m release clause in the attacker's contract.

The Catalan giants announced the signing of Gustavo Maia on Wednesday after paying Sao Paulo €3.5million for the attacker's services.
Reports in Spain claimed Liverpool and Atletico Madrid were also interested in the Brazilian, but Barcelona won the race for the striker's services.
Club statement:
FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Sao Paulo for the signing of Gustavo Maia, who will join Barça B. The Brazilian has signed a contract through to June 30, 2025, with a buyout clause of 300 million euros.
The total cost of the operation is 4.5 million euros: The club had already paid 1 million to guarantee an option to buy the player, and have now put down the remaining 3.5 million to complete the deal.

While Maia will be put in the B team, new signing Trincao has now been linked with a loan move to Premier League outfit Leicester City, which leaves Miralem Pjanic as the only signing set to feature for the club next season.
