Venue: Santiago Bernabeu

Carlo Ancelotti made four changes from the team that started the win over Getafe on Thursday, as Rodrygo, Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga all returned to the line-up.

The two Madrid rivals recently me in the Copa del Rey, where Diego Simeone's charges ran out 4-2 after extra-time, while Los Blancos secured the win in Spanish Super Cup semi-finals.

The opening goal fell to the home side in the 19th minute when Brahim Diaz ltahced onto a loose ball in the box before showing great composure to slot past Oblak.

Atletico, meanwhile, struggled to get a hold of the ball in the early stages and had to wait until the 37th minute for an opening when Marcos Llorente picked out Koke, who sent his header wide of the mark.

However, the visitors thought they got back on level terms shortly after the break when Stefan Savic nodded home a corner, but the celebrations were cut short as Alvaro Morata was obstructing Andriy Lunin's view from an offside position.

Simeone responded with a double change on the hour mark as Morata and Rodrigo de Paul made way for Memphis Depay and Pablo Barrios as they pushed for an equaliser in the final 30 minutes.

With time running out, Atletico carved a big chance in the 77th minute as Griezmann got on the end of Correa's cross but his fancy flick was saved by Lunin.

However, Atletico got their reward in the 93rd minute when former Los Blancos midfielder Llorente sent a powerful header past Lunin after some good work by Depay.

As a result, Ancelotti's men missed out the win and only moved on point clear of second-place Girona, who they face next weekend.
