Oviedo 0-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid maintained their winning start to the LALIGA season with a 3-0 victory away to Oviedo on Saturday night.

Los Blancos coach Xabi Alonso surprisingly dropped both Vinicius Junior and Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Rodrygo was recalled to the starting line-up despite the speculation surrounding his future.

It took a while for the visitors to get going, but they broke the deadlock in the 37th minute when Kylian Mbappe collected a pass from Arda Guler before turning well and firing into the far corner.

Despite leading at the break, Alonso made a double change shortly after the halftime break as Rodrygo and Franco Mastantuono made way for Vinicius and Brahim Diaz to freshen up the attack.

Vinicius made the desired impact as he turned provider on 85 minutes to tee up Mbappe, who sent a first time finish beyond Aarón Escandell for his second goal of the night.

Vinicius rounded off the scoring for Los Blancos in second-half stoppage time with a composed finish into the bottom corner to open his account for the season.
