Revealed: Why French Giants Rejected Pogba Move

It has been revealed why one of France's biggest teams rejected the chance to sign former Manchester United and Juventus star Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman will be eligible to play competitive football next month after his doping ban was reduced from four years to 18 months.

The 31-year-old is currently in the United States as he awaits his next move, but it has now been revealed that Olympique Marseille turned down the chance to sign the World Cup winner.

Marseille coach Roberto de Zerbi hinted that signing the former Red Devils star could upset the balance in the dressing room.

"The balance of the dressing room, nobody could change it," De Zerbi told reporters, as per Goal.

"Nobody will unbalance my dressing room as long as I am [the] coach. That was not the problem. Pogba is a very great player, but we had to understand where we could use him once he was available to play, in what role, what position.

"The more champions there are, the happier I am, that wasn't it. It was a general assessment and maybe it will change but at the moment we made this decision due to several factors."
