All but two teams have reached the double-figure mark in terms of matches played in the Illicocash Ligue 1. The exceptions are TP Mazembe and AS Maniema Union.
These two sides have been heavily involved in Africa's premier club competition, with the Ravens having played only eight matches in the first phase of league action, while the Greens and Blacks have played nine encounters.
It is understood that, as a consequence of Mazembe and Maniema not completing their first round of league matches, the Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA) has ordered Linafoot to halt league proceedings until further notice.
"Through social networks, we have learned of the schedule for the return leg of the championship in its classic phase [...] we urge you to postpone the schedule until further notice," a statement from FECOFA said, as per Media Congo.
It remains to be seen when the DRC's top flight will resume or whether it will continue its second round of matches or go straight to the playoff rounds. However, it seems certain that its continuation will occur only after the conclusion of the Total Energies African Nations Championship (CHAN).
