It appears as though the Bafana Bafana international's time with the Club of the Century is approaching its end.
After removing the club's name from his Instagram profile and being omitted from the side's squad for their CAF Champions League clash against Stade d'Abidjan, it looks as though the Witbank native is close to completing his move to Qatar Stars League side Qatar SC.
However, the Egyptian side's decision to part ways with the 2023 CAF Interclub Player of the Year has not gone down well with some of the club's former stars. One of them is Osama Orabi.
The 10-time Egyptian Premier League winner questioned why the record African champions would part ways with the 46-capped international, emphasising Al Ahly's need to sign more wingers.
"Al-Ahly needs new deals, despite being at the top of the Premier League and having a great team," the 62-year-old told OnTime Sports.
"A great opportunity to qualify for the African Champions League and win the championship due to the many commitments. To maintain these championships.
"I am against the departure of South African Percy Tau, who has performed brilliantly over the course of 3 years with Al-Ahly, as is the case with Mali Deng, who wanted to stay, and his departure raised question marks.
"Al-Ahly needs a strong striker next to Wessam Abou Ali, who is considered one of the best new signings. When the problem occurred, it became apparent in light of Kahraba's lack of form, which requires focus.

"In addition to two wingers after the departure of Percy Tau and the injury of Reda Selim, and there is no one but Hussein El-Shahat, and we may need more."
