The Red Devils have fallen out of the top three most valuable football clubs in the game, following a recent list published by Forbes.
The Premier League giants are now said to be worth $4.2 billion (R61.1 billion), with German giants Bayern Munich, who won last season's UEFA Champions League, having entered the top three in the English top-flight side's place.
According to Forbes, the most valuable club in football today is Barcelona, who, despite their many financial issues, brought in $275 million (R4 billion) alone in broadcast revenue in the 2019/20 season, which helped them finish above LaLiga rivals Los Blancos.
Struggling Premier League champions Liverpool are the fifth most valuable club in the world with $4.1 billion (R59.71 billion), while current league leaders Manchester City sit agonisingly close to them in sixth place.
According to the Daily Mail, Forbes decide a team's value on an enterprise level and include the economics of the club's stadium, but exclude real estate value.
