With 2024 recently coming to an end, world football's governing body has now revealed which teams spent the most in terms of transfer fees across the planet.

Clubs governed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and its top ten biggest spenders have officially been revealed.

Given the recent signings of Iqraam Rayners, Kobamelo Kodisang, Matías Esquivel and Arthur Sales last year, it is perhaps no surprise that Ka Bo Yellow sit at the summit of the biggest spenders in Africa.

The purchase of their new Brazilian striker had a lot to do with their ranking, as the acquisition of Sales was €3.2 million (R61.6 million), making him the most expensive player in the club's history.

The South African side moved up two places to rise to first in the transfer rankings, dethroning 2023's highest spenders, Al Ahly. While of late it looks as though the Red Devils are prioritising outgoings, the Club of the Century went on a major spending spree in 2024.

The record African champions signed Achraf Dari for €1.8 million (R34.7 million) and Wessam Abou Ali for €1.7 million (R32.7 million), a drop-off in the funds they utilised to bring in the likes of Emam Ashour and Reda Slim the season before.

The rest of the list is also comprised of North African sides, with Esperance de Tunis, Wydad Athletic Club, Al Ahli Tripoli, MC Alger, CR Belouizdad, Zamalek, USM Alger and Al Ahly Benghazi.
