Reds manager Arne Slot has given a debut to 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha in the attack, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to play an FA Cup game. The home side dominated from the onset as expected, with Darwin Nunez going closest with an effort over the crossbar from just inside the box inside the opening 15 minutes.
Liverpool got the breakthrough in the 29th minute via a swift counter-attack when Trent Alexander-Arnold played in Nunez, who did well tee up Diogo Jota for the tap-in from three yards out.
The second goal arrived on the stroke of halftime as captain Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up the ball 20 yards out and sent a superb strike into the top corner, leaving Accrington goalkeeper with no chance.
The visitors nearly pulled one back ten minutes after the break as Ben Woods took advantage of a quick corner and carved out some space in the box, before seeing his powerful strike crash against the crossbar.
However, the Reds would go on to grab a third goal and end the contest in the 75th minute as substitute Jayden Danns opened his account for the season after Federico Chiesa's shot was blocked in the box.
There would be time for a fourth goal as Chiesa finally got his first goal for the club after being given time and space to pick out the bottom corner from 20 yards out.
