Since emerging in the Buccaneers' setup as a teenager, the winger has gradually ascended to superstardom within South African football.
This season, the youngster has taken another step forward in his evolution by adding efficiency, as he currently has nine goals and 11 assists in the 27 matches he has played in all competitions.
Perhaps his biggest goal of the campaign so far came in Pirates' final CAF Champions League group-stage match against the Red Devils.
The Bafana Bafana international opened the scoring during their 2-1 win in Cairo, and throughout the mid-season window, there were murmurings of the record African champions potentially being interested in bringing the Vaal native to the Egyptian capital.
However, according to Kooora, while the chiefs at El Tetsh Stadium are keen on recruiting the 20-year-old, they have been informed that he harbours ambitions of playing in Europe as soon as possible.
"Al-Ahly coach Marcel Koller's talk about the winter transfer deals not being over does not mean negotiations with Mofokeng," the source said to the Egyptian publication.
"Mofokeng is a great and young player, and he was in Al-Ahly's calculations, but Orlando and the player are considering European options in the summer of 2025.

"Orlando reached the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, so they want to benefit from Mofokeng, and they will not give him up."
