Although Adama Traore was called up to the Spain national team in the recent international break, he has now been named in Mali's squad for their upcoming international matches.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers winger was first selected for the Spain squad in November last year, but was forced to miss out due to an injury.
After being called up again in August this year, Traore was again unfortunate to miss out after he tested positive for COVID-19, so he is yet to make his senior debut for La Furia Roja.
Now, Goal have reported that the former FC Barcelona starlet has been called up to international duty for Mali, who face Ghana and Iran in friendly matches in October.
If he were to accept Mali's call-up, it is still unlikely he would be available to play in the upcoming games as there would be a lot of paperwork to complete.
The 24-year-old has shown a preference to play for Spain having been born in the European nation, whom he has represented throughout youth level.
Earlier this year, however, Traore did admit that he feels lucky to be able to choose between two national teams, which he is technically still able to do.
