Boateng, formerly of AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur, was snapped up on a loan deal by the Blaugrana in January, but has made just three appearances across all competitions since arriving from Italian side Sassuolo.
The 32-year-old was an unused substitute as he watched Barca captain Lionel Messi come off the bench to score the match-winner against Levante to secure Barcelona's second successive top-flight title.
With Barca claiming the trophy, Boateng beat the likes of fellow countrymen Michael Essien, Mubarak Wakaso and Thomas Partey, all of whom have featured in Spain's top flight, in becoming the first-ever Ghanaian to lift the LaLiga title, according to Pulse Ghana.
With the league title in the bag, Boateng can still help Barcelona secure two more trophies: the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League.
