Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey helped the Gunners claim a 2-1 win over the Blues to secure their third FA Cup trophy in the last four seasons.
In doing so, Arsenal have won the cup for a record 13th occasion, one more than Manchester United.
Another record was set as Arsene Wenger has now won the cup seven times, more than any other manager in history.
