The proved to be the final bit of goal-mouth action as the sides went into the break with the score locked at 0-0.

Arsenal leveled matters in the 71st minute as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain whipped the ball to the far post, where Nacho Monreal was on hand slot home, 1-1.
Both sides pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages with City going closest through Yaya Toure and Fernandinho, who both hit the woodwork.
Nonetheless, the score remained 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, which forced the clash into extra time.
Wenger's men then took the lead in the 100th minute as Sanchez sneaked in at the far post and fired home from close range, 2-1.
City pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages of extra-time, but they struggled to carve out a chance as Arsenal held on for the win.
