FA Cup

Result: Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 Chelsea

Date: 18 February 2017

Venue: Molineux Stadium

Chelsea advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, after Pedro and Diego Costa secured a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

George Saville should have opened the scoring for the home side in the fourth minute, but hit the post from close range.

It was end-to-end attack from both teams but Wolves had the better chances in the opening half-an-hour.

The Championship outfit were impressive and they were holding their own against Premier League leaders.

The match went into the half-time break logged at 0-0. Wolves were impressive and could have gone into the break leading Chelsea.

Antonio Conte's charges had a lot to do in the second-half as Wolves dominated the first.

Pedro eventually broke the deadlock for the Blues in the 65th minute, as the Spaniard head home Willian's cross, 1-0.

Chelsea showed experience not giving away their shape defensively even when they were dominated.

Wolves were now chasing the game and Chelsea were doing a good job keeping the possession in the closing stages, as they looked to see out the game.

However, Diego Costa sealed the tie in the dying stages, by latching onto a loose ball in the box and firing into the back of the net, 2-0.
