Theo Walcott netted his 100th goal for Arsenal, as they defeated Sutton United 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
Arsene Wenger fielded a few first team stars in the line up which included Theo Walcott, Mohamed Elneny Granit Xhaka, Gabriel Paulista and Shkodran Mustafi, while Alexis Sanchez was named on the bench.
After a nervy start to the encounter, the Gunners eventually broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, as Lucas Perez cut in from the left, before firing the ball into the far corner.
Sutton, meanwhile, spent most of the defending due to Arsenal's dominance, although they did look lively on a couple counter attacks.
However, Despite the visitors' dominance, the score remained 1-0 as the sides entered the halftime break.
Arsenal eventually doubled their lead 10 minutes into the second half as Walcott fired home his 100th goal for the club by turning home Nacho Monreal's cross.
Sutton nearly pulled a goal back in the 65th minute through Rory Deacon, who rattled the crossbar with a powerful effort from 25-yards out.
Arsenal were comfortably leading throughout the half, although Wenger introduced Sanchez and Ainsley Maitland-Niles for the final 15 minutes.
Nonetheless, the score remained 2-0 at the full-time whistle, as the Gunners progressed the quarterfinals, where they will face another non-league outfit, Lincoln City.
