Date: 28 January 2017
Venue: St Mary's
Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott played starring roles as Arsenal thumped Southampton 5-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup at St Mary's.
The Gunners broke the deadlock in the 15th minute when Lucas Perez played in Welbeck, who calmly lifted the ball over Harry Lewis, 1-0.
Welbeck got his and Arsenal's second in the 22nd minute, as the England striker latched onto Alex Oxlade-Chamerlain's long ball, before firing a left-footed effort past Lewis.
Arsenal grabbed a third goal in the 35th minute as Welbeck turned provider to pick out Theo Walcott to poke home from six-yards out.
Southampton hardly troubled Arsenal shot-stopper David Ospina between the sticks, as the score remained 3-0 at the full-time whistle.
Arsene Wenger's charges dominated the opening exchanges but failed to add to their three-goal lead due to the lack of chances.
The Gunners added a fourth goal in the 69th minute as substitute Alexis Sanchez cut the ball back for Walcott to fire home his second from 12-yards out.
Walcott completed his hat-trick in the 84th minute by turning home another Sanchez cross, as Arsenal cruised into the fifth round.
