Bastian Schweinsteiger bagged a goal and an assist as Manchester United thumped Wigan Athletic 4-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Jose Mourinho made a number of changes for the encounter, as the likes of Wayne Rooney, Schweinsteiger, Jaun Mata and Anthony Martial returned ot the line up.
Wigan got off to an encouraging start and nearly went ahead after 10 when Connolly's forced Sergio Romero into a save with a volley from the edge of the box.
United should have broken the deadlock in the 31st minute, as Fosu-Mensah did well to pick out Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who skewed his effort wide at the far post.
Mourinho's charges saw more of the ball in the first half, but struggled to carve out clear-cut chances as Wigan were quite content to sit back and soak up the pressure.
The Red Devils eventually broke the deadlock just before the halftime break, as Maroune Fellaini headed home Schweinsteiger's cross.
United doubled their lead in the 57th minute, as Chris Smalling rose above his marker to head home Martial's cross.
Mourinho opted for a double change for the final 20 minutes, as Axel Tuanzebe made his first team debut by replacing Mensah, while Ander Herrera replaced Fellaini.
United bagged their third goal in the as Martial picked up his second assist by teeing up Mkhitaryan for the simple tap-in.
Schweinsteiger rounded off the scoring in the 81st minute, as the German volleyed home from close range, after a knockdown from Smalling, 4-0.
