Premier League Footballer Exiled For 'Spitting' At Own Coach

Premier League Footballer Exiled For 'Spitting' At Own Coach

Wolves have exiled Jonny Otto for spitting at a coach and trying to hurt an U21 player.

A footballer in the Premier League has reportedly been banished from his club's dressing room for attempting to hurt an U21 player and for spitting at one of his own coaches.

Last week, rumours suggested that Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Jonny Otto found himself in trouble following a fallout at the club.

The reason for the 29-year-old Spaniard's exile was unclear when the story first broke, but the Daily Mail now claims the fullback has been banished for swinging an elbow at a younger colleague, destroying the players' lounge area at the club, and spitting at one of the coaches.

Jonny has not featured for Wolves since September, and reports suggest that he is unlikely to return to Gary O'Neil's team following these recent events.

It is said that the defender became infuriated at a challenge from youngster Tawanda Chirewa in training and attempted to catch the player with a flailing elbow.

During his rage, Jonny reportedly spat at a coach who tried to remove him from the situation, before he smashed up a TV and damaged a table in the players' lounge.

It is said Jonny has since apologised for his actions, but is still only available for U21 matches.

"I've sat down with him, he's apologised, and we have outlined the way forward. We had a conversation and have agreed that at least until the end of the January window he won't be part of the first-team group," Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs said.

"He will still be training at the club and, if he chooses, he can play for the U21s to keep up his match sharpness, and I think, knowing him, he'll probably do that.

"This is a guy who has been a great servant to the football club. One incident doesn't define the role he's played during the successful times and the man he is day-to-day around the place.

"Everybody has moments and that's all it was, but we have to deal with it and move forward for the wider group. It might seem big because someone's been removed from the group, but it's not."
