Barca Respond To Pep's 'I Want To Return' Comments
With the Reds making a positive start in the Premier League encounter on Sunday, it arguably is City who might feel hard done by following the goalless draw at Anfield.
Guardiola's side was denied what some believe was a definite penalty in the first half, while Riyad Mahrez missed from the spot with just minutes remaining on the clock after Leroy Sane was taken out in the box by Virgil van Dijk.
After the match, the Spanish boss revealed he had apologised to Jesus – who had appeared keen to take the penalty – for instructing Mahrez to stand over the ball.
"I am in the training sessions and I see him (Mahrez) training every day with penalties and he gave me a lot of confidence," he said, according to Manchester Evening News.
"It will be a good experience for him, next time it will go in.
"Gabriel wanted to take the penalty and I apologised, it was my decision."
