Liverpool's star Egyptian is currently having the season of his life, and it could get even better as the Reds are still in the UEFA Champions League, having drawn Roma in the semi-finals of the tournament.
With reported interest coming from Spanish giants Real Madrid, many Liverpool supporters might feel the only way to hang on to the 25-year-old is if the club offers him a bigger contract.
Reportedly earning about £120 000 (R2 million) a week in England, Salah is said to be the joint third highest paid African player in the Premier League, tied with Swansea's Wilfried Bony.
The Reds superstar is far away from being the best paid African player in the EPL, though, with Manchester City's Yaya Toure and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang earning much more than he does.
While the Citizens' Ivorian midfielder, who could very well leave England come June, is believed to be on a weekly wage of £220 000 (R3.7 million), Aubameyang is the second best paid African in the English top flight on £180 000 (R3 million) a week.
Below the aforementioned Salah and Bony is Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha with his reported wage of £110 000 (R1.8 million), while Sadio Mane follows in sixth place with weekly earnings of £90 000 (R1.5 million).
