Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur claimed the bragging rights in the North London derby with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute. They snapped into a quick counter-attack as Harry Kane slipped Son Heung-Min in down the left flank and the attacker ran at the backtracking Arsenal defence before whipping a brilliant effort into the top right corner from 30 yards.
In the first minute of first-half stoppage time, Tottenham hit Arsenal with another razor-sharp counter-attack as Son led a three-on-two before drawing a defender in and playing Kane through on goal, where the striker thumped an angled finish off the bar and in.
The Gunners suffered injury to insult when Thomas Partey was replaced by Dani Ceballos after pulling up during the move for Kane's goal.
Five minutes after the interval, Kieran Tierney charged forward from the back and whipped in a dangerous cross that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang steered beyond Hugo Lloris but just over the bar.
In the 68th minute, Hector Bellerin swung in yet another cross for the away side and Alexandre Lacazette glanced it on at the near post, forcing Lloris into a scrambling save to parry it wide of the far corner.
Despite Arsenal having the overwhelming majority of possession and throwing countless crosses in to the Tottenham area in the second half, Spurs rarely looked troubled as they closed out the game in comfortable fashion to record their fifth clean sheet in six games.
