Liverpool moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League table after defeating Bournemouth 4-0 on Sunday evening.

Venue: Vitality Stadium

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has had to make four changes from the win over Newcastle United, as Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliot, Alexis Mac Allister and league debutant Conor Bradley all got starts.

The opening exchanges of the first half proved to be a lively affair with both sides eager to get the early goal, although the final pass was lacking on both ends of the pitch.

The past meetings between the two sides have always produced goals, with the Reds claiming a 3-1 win earlier in the season at Anfield while Klopp's charges also won in the League Cup in November.

Unfortunately, neither side were able to cause any problem in the final third, although Darwin Nunez did have a couple sights in the box but he was unable to profit.

That all changed in the second half when Liverpool got the breakthrough three minutes in when Nunez latched onto Jota's through-ball before slotting into the far corner with a neat finish.

The Cherries looked to get back on level terms, but it was Liverpool who bagged the next goal in the 69th minute as substitute Cody Gakpo turned provider to play in Diogo Jota who rifled the ball past Neto.

There was enough time for a third goal with 11 minutes left on the clock as Jota completed his brace with a sweeping finish in the box after some good work by Bradley.

Nunez rounded off the scoring in third minute of time added on, with the Uruguayan getting on the end of Joe Gomez's cross and poking home in the six yard box.

Klopp's charges will now turn their attention to the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham on Wednesday evening.
